It was my first time to be number 1 in the queue and to have helped manage the line along with Vik and Pat. The security were very cooperative, helpful, and funny. Like Phoenix, the venue didn’t want people to camp out, so we numbered everyone as they came to the queue and asked them to return the next morning at 6AM for role call. It made it easy for the venue and the fans. If numbered fans weren’t there at the time of role call, their name was scratched off the list and security supported our numbering system. The run into the pit was crazy with no real indicators of where to go. Vik jumped 7 feet to the pitch to make his way in. Nuts! The show itself was incredible. I truly believe The Black Eyed Peas are the best opening act I have ever seen. Some filipinas handed us a Philippine flag to wave, and band member Apl.de.ap wanted our flag. Given that he was filipino too, he wrapped the flag around himself while he sang. We were ecstatic! Later, Fergie saw our ‘Fergie We Love You” sign, and she sang to us for a bit – what a lot of fun! U2 was certainly on that evening. Snippets include In God’s Country, Fix You (because Chris Martin was in the crowd), and Viva Las Vegas. I walked away very happy with the show. Las Vegas didn’t disappoint!
