October 26, 2013 – Arcade Fire – Bridge School Benefit

Shoreline Amphitheatre

New to U2 Online on the Horizon, posts will include musical acts who have opened or supported U2 during their tours.

Arcade Fire has opened for U2 on a few occasions, namely in Ottawa and Montreal during the Vertigo Tour, and in Moncton during the 360° Tour.  Coincidentally, I also love Arcade Fire and have seen them four times live, and as far as 2005 during their Funeral Tour.  Just recently, Arcade Fire released their new album – Reflektor – and have started touring.  They have performed at the Bridge School Benefit Concert, which has been organized by  Neil Young and his wife Pegi since 1986.  The concert raises money for a school that educates children with speech and physical impairments.  I like this concert for not only its philanthropic work, but also because Neil Young attended the same high school as I did in Winnipeg – Kelvin High!  Small world.

Setlist:

The Suburbs
Reflektor
Awful Sound (Oh Eurydice) [live debut]
Normal Person
Speech
I Dreamed a Neil Young Song [with Neil Young, live debut]
