The highlight of the night was Bad with a snippet of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘The Boxer’, which was dedicated for Tetsu Nakamura (a physician and honorary Afghan citizen who headed Peace Japan Medical Services – an aid group known as Peshawar-kai in Japanese.) and had been assassinated in Afghanistan earlier that month. It was touching and somber – very appropriate for ‘Bad’.
