Location: South-side, front corner (where I-stage and catwalk meet)
The GA was a rainy and cold affair. At 13:00, we had split the GA and moved the fans north and south side entrances. Colleen, myself, and Chris ran the south line. I understood that we were sheltered from the wind, but we still got pretty wet. The GA was not without conflict or controversy, but that comes with the territory, sadly. Nevertheless, I took great comfort knowing I was with some good U2 friends and new ones – Chris, Colleen, Vik, Claire, Vidya, Mark, Remy, Coen, Richard, Rick, Amra, Brett, Fernando, Juanjo, Jose, Raul, Javi, Efren, Sil, Ken, Eli, Immanuel, Simona, Carolyn, Rob, Jorge, Geisa, Gez, Ingo, Kevin, Kristen, Sally, Maria, and many more. Most fans, including myself, have concluded that Dublin 3 was one of the best shows of the tour. But after listening to Paris 3, I think that’s taken the crown for best gig. In any event, at Dublin 3, we got Gloria, New Year’s Day, Shine Like Stars (With or Without You snippet), and Bad. Bad was the surprise inclusion. I had heard it on Dublin 2 and assumed U2 would perform I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For. What made it special was Bono’s dedication of Bad for Andy Rowan – of whom Bad and Raised by Wolves was about. Andy was in the audience that night, making this show particularly Dublin and i+E poignant. Lastly, Jenna, from Toronto, made it up on stage and represented Canada really well during Mysterious Ways.
