This concert marked the end of the first leg (North America) of U2’s iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour. There was a festive atmosphere to the show. Hillary and Bill Clinton were in the audience as well as Questlove and “Captain” Kirk Douglas from The Roots were in the GA. As mentioned several times, this has to be the most fan-friendly tour of all time. Our friend Khelia and the U2 Brazilian crew all made it up on stage. The much anticipated (and usual NY) appearance of Bruce Springsteen occurred at the end during an emotional rendition of ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’. Similar to the Vertigo Tour closer in Boston 10 years ago, ‘Trash, Trampoline, and The Party Girl’ was played along with the champagne spray and toast to mark the end of leg one. The concert ended, fittingly, with ’40’.
